Spoilers: Hawaii Five-0: I started writing this thing during Hawaii Five-0's Season One, OMG! This story takes place sometime after Loa Aloha and diverges from there.
Highlander (the Series): The Highlander characters diverge from the end of Season Five, with MacLeod still living in Paris. (Although this story takes place modern-day, and it's probably past time Mac thought about moving on...) There was never a demon, and Richie is still alive. Neither of the two ridiculous post-series movies ever happened, and Connor is still alive too. Nyah nyah, this is fanfiction, so there, PTB!
Warnings:  Highlander- (and H50-)level violence, drugged lack of volition

I LOVE THIS FIC!!

Not gonna lie I'm not usually a slasher but everything else was just beautiful. The world building, the ocs, the research! Matthew! Oh! I have a happy happy ficcer!

So glad you enjoyed it! I'm especially glad that the Highlander elements worked for you.

I'm curious--if you usually aren't into slash, why did you give it a try? (if it was anything I did, I'd like to do it again. ::grin::)

Well I suppose it's less accurate to say that I am not into slash and more accurate to say that I am not a shipper for the two slash couples presented in this fic. That's not to say I actively object, I just tend to be a canon shipper in general.

Having said that, I will read any well written fic with any ship in it period. I will always have my fav ships, that I will love and hold dear but I do not believe that having a ship in a fic that I don't ship automatically makes that fic bad. In fact one of the things I love about really well written in character fic is that it can show me ways things could go another way for two characters. One of the things I liked about this fic is Danny and Steve where still in character - you didn't have to radically alter their personalities to slash them. ( I can speak less to Methos and Duncan, simply because they were in the fic less). I am not going to lie though, I think my favorite canons in this where Matt in general and just watching Kono trying to figure things out.

And if I am going to be frank this fic came with a very high rec from someone I trust while it was a WIP so I was willing to give it a try. I am thoroughly glad I did.
